Welcome to The Spreadsheet Dad

Welcome to The Spreadsheet Dad

I am obsessed!

Like many of you reading this post I dream of becoming financially free, in fact you could probably say I obsess over it! Not a day goes by that I am not thinking about my personal finances and what actions I need to take to keep the needle moving in the right direction so that one day (hopefully sooner rather than later) I can finally escape the ‘rat race’ (to quote the great Robert Kiyasoki) and become financially free and be able to spend as much time as I like with my family. With this blog I plan to drag you along on my journey towards my goal so hopefully we can entertain, educate and help each other our own unique journey.

I have another obsession, one that is even bigger than money…

As the name of the blog suggests I am a dad to two beautiful children who bring me joy and happiness everyday (… and of course stress and heartache!). They really are my greatest achievement in life and ever since having kids I have made a conscious decision to become the best dad I can be. On top of that I want to be the best husband I can be. My wife is the most incredible woman I know, her strength in times of stress and hardship is awe-inspiring, so she deserves the best version of me I can give. To help me on my journey I participate in a few dad/parenting groups and am constantly educating myself in ways I can improve as a parent and husband, one of the best and one that I highly recommend is The Good Dad Project and their Facebook group. Again I look forward to you joining on my journey through fatherhood.

As the other part of the blog name suggests I have a bit of an unhealthy relationship with spreadsheets! Through my working career in project management I have used a lot of spreadsheets! Whilst I am far from an expert I will be sharing with you some templates that I have created to help with all things from family budgeting through to goal setting. Along the way I will also point you to spreadsheets or website others have created that I use and recommend. I find a simple and well structured spreadsheet can help you achieve many things in life!

We are all on this adventure together so please feel free (I encourage you!) to comment or contact me with any experiences and knowledge you can share that will help us all achieve our goals  🙂

Cheers,

The Spreadsheet Dad
