For all of those who are unaware, Acorns Australia has re-branded to Raiz Investments. The re-brand came about after the venture split with is US based parent company. You can read about it here on the Smart Company website.

It is still the same great investing platform that I have had really enjoyed being part of and would recommend to all my friends and family as a simple way to get into investing and put their savings and investments on autopilot!

I have been an investor with Raiz/Acorns for a year and half and have a had a very healthy return of 15.86% and have a balance of over $1500 without feeling any affects on my cash flow at all!

One of the nice additions that I have not spoken about previously are the Raiz Rewards.

Raiz Rewards are similar to other cashback type rewards provided by other sites/apps however the difference is the companies who you purchase through will invest a certain % of your spending or a certain dollar value straight into your Raiz account. Of course the benefit of this over other cash back programs is it will continue to grow over time, another seamless way to build you investment portfolio!

The most beneficial Raiz Reward partner I have found so far for my personal situation is Woolworths. Our family utilises their online ordering system (for either delivery or pick up) for weekly shopping so why not earn a nice little bonus.

Currently they pay 1.75% of the total order value. On an average shop $200 that equates to $3.50. Whilst that is not much in itself, add that up over a year and it’s a nice little bonus of $182. Again, not ground breaking but compounded in the market over time it will certainly add up.

There are also a lot of travel and gift companies that pay upwards of 4% so next time you are booking some travel or gift shopping online make sure you check the app.
